Christopher Yunglut and Ken Wilson return this Saturday, March 21, to the SpeakEasy Emporium for their monthly Men with Hats performance.

The duo perform Jazz music every third Saturday each month at the SpeakEasy, free for the general public.

“We play Jazz and Blues mostly, however I do like to throw in some classical music. Once in a while, we also throw in some Elvis,” said Yungblut. “There’s no cover, but we do welcome tips to help support the SpeakEasy. We also have snacks, juice and coffee available.”

On display throughout the performance is artwork from local artists, featured this month is the work of artist Audrey Hutchison, and consignments from local artists and small business such as Bees and Berries honey products.

Christopher Yungblut is a full time musician and music teacher and has been involved with the SpeakEasy Emporium and Luxe Entertainment since January of 2014.

Yungblut operates Dancing Tone Music at the SpeakEasy and offers coaching sessions to budding musicians.

After the Men with Hats performance, Yungblut will be back for another Beer & Beethoven event hosted at the Moneta Pub & Grill and will also be performing for Luxe Entertainments Scotch Tasting on Friday, March 20 at the Fishbowl Restaurant and future events.

The SpeakEasy Emporium is a shared space that supports small local business and artists of all mediums, operated by Christina Geddes.

“As Christina would say, it’s a place to make it easy to speak. It’s a gathering place for artisans, a place for people to get to know each other,” said Yungblut.

The organization hosts monthly potlucks, workshops and a consignment shop for local artists to easily sell their work.

The art exhibit is open to the general public for viewings.

Luxe Entertainment, Christina Geddes Group, HBK Studios, Dancing Tone Music, Cursor Communications and Class Act Theatre are currently being hosted by the SpeakEasy.

The Emporium is always looking for partners and patrons.

The SpeakEasy is not for profit, and hopes to help the arts and culture community in Timmins grow.

The SpeakEasy emporium is located at the corner of Spruce Street South and Third Avenue in Timmins.
