The Sudbury-based MineConnect organization, which has strong partnerships with the mining supply and service sector throughout Northeastern Ontario, is helping to build some new business ties with the mining community in northeastern Nevada, in the United States.

MineConnect said in a recent news release that one of its members, STG Mining Supplies of British Columbia (with an office in Sudbury), had reported a favourable partnership with MineConnect, which also has office and warehouse facilities in Elko, Nevada.

"The response we've received since establishing a presence in Elko has been incredible," said Glen Graham, director of business development at STG Mining.

"We recognized northeastern Nevada as a significant market, but having a local footprint has proven crucial in serving Nevada's mining industry effectively.”

Headquartered in BC, STG Mining is a global supplier specializing in equipment and consumables for all phases of mineral processing and analysis in a laboratory setting, said the release.

The company services range from crushers, pulverizers, and splitters for sample preparation, to furnaces used in fire assays, and analytical equipment for precious metals determinations.

STG also provides certified reference materials, crucibles, cupels, and general lab consumables and safety products essential for mining laboratories.

MineConnect's new Elko office is STG’s first and only warehouse in the United States.

"We have collaborated with STG Mining for about a year to support their expansion," said Sheldon Mudd, executive director of the Northeastern Nevada Regional Development Authority (NNRDA).

"Thanks to their motivated and determined team, our efforts were relatively minimal.”

STG Mining is a member of MineConnect, an Ontario-based industry trade organization known for its extensive network of members, regarded as the "Suppliers of Choice to the World."

With an office, warehouse, and service centre in Sudbury, Ontario, STG Mining qualifies and is an active member of MineConnect, said the release.

"We're excited to see another Ontario company expanding its services to Nevada's thriving mining industry," said Marla Tremblay, executive director of MineConnect.

"Our partnership with the Silver State is strong, and we are pleased to see our service providers addressing challenges in Nevada’s mining sector."

In December, NNRDA launched the "Silver Link" program, designed to identify and recruit specific mining supply and service providers to enhance Northeastern Nevada’s supply chain.  As part of this initiative, the "Master Links" element facilitates partnerships with trade organizations to streamline recruitment efforts, said the release.

MineConnect was the first organization to join the program as a Master Link.

"We are proud to announce that we have a new link in Nevada's mining supply chain," said Mudd. "This brings us closer to achieving a fully integrated mining industry in Nevada, from extraction to recycling.”
