SUDBURY - The annual Mining Health and Safety Conference is once again set to return to Sudbury next spring.
Hosted by Workplace Safety North (WSN), the three-day event is scheduled for April 16-18, 2024, at the Holiday Inn in Sudbury’s south end.
This year’s theme — ‘Inclusive Mines, A Safer Future’ — is focused on prioritizing health and safety and creating diverse and equitable work environments.
Key presentation topics include high-risk hazards specific to underground work; workplace well-being and mental health; safety culture and management systems; research and innovation; diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace; new and changing mining health and safety regulations; emergency preparedness and mine rescue; and battery electric vehicles in underground mines.
The event will feature keynote speakers, technical presentations, and a tradeshow among other offerings. A full schedule is expected to be available closer to the event date.
Registration for the 26th annual event is now open.
Workplace Safety North provides health and safety training and services to the mining and forest products industries, while its offshoot, Ontario Mine Rescue, trains mine rescue team members throughout the province.
