COCHRANE – On March 19, 2015, Cochrane Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint from a member of the public after a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) had lost a portion of its load onto the highway in the Cochrane area.

The debris was safely removed by the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and OPP without any further incident. 

The CMV was later located by a member of the Kapuskasing OPP at a local gas station.

As a result, Baban DOEL, 23, of Calgary, Alberta was charged with:

  • Fail to ensure daily inspection107(4)(b) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA);
  • Insecure load commercial motor vehicle 111(2) of the HTA;
  • Fail to enter required information in daily log at end of day 19(3) Ontario Regulation under the HTA
