Two new forest fires were reported in the northeast region late today, according to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) website.
Kirkland Lake 11 is 0.1 ha in size and is listed as under control. Wawa 14 is also 0.1 ha in size but is currently not under control.
Meanwhile, North Bay 36, first reported Aug. 15, continues to be observed at 0.4 ha in size.
Today's MNRF fire situation update states that the fire hazard is low to moderate across most of the region, but areas along the Highway 11 corridor, as well as Timmins and Bancroft, are showing a moderate to high hazard.
