TIMMINS - Fire crews battled a fire at an abandoned building in downtown Timmins tonight (Jan. 13).
The blaze was at the building west of Busch Jewellers on Third Avenue between Balsam and Birch Streets.
It was in the basement of the abandoned building and the fire was contained to the structure it started in, said Deputy Fire Chief Scott Atkinson. The cause is not known at this time.
Firefighters from Timmins, Schumacher and Mountjoy were at the scene.
