The Timmins office of NORCAT has relocated to a new space.
A satellite location of the Sudbury-based innovation and training centre, NORCAT Timmins has moved to a larger office in Porcupine in the government complex.
NORCAT made the announcement in a Sept. 9 social media post.
“The substantial growth is also attributed to additional offerings, including human capital and training strategy design and development through NORCAT Advisory, and capabilities to support clients beyond the Northern Ontario markets, including Quebec, Saskatchewan and Alberta.”
From this location, NORCAT offers a range of training programs for workers in mining and other industries, including surface miner common core, basic mill process operator, working at heights, and more.
This is NORCAT Timmins’ second move since it opened its doors in 2014.
NORCAT first expanded to Timmins in 2014, setting up on the campus of Collège Boréal, itself a satellite location of the Sudbury college.
Since 2018, the organization had been operating out of The Chamber building in Schumacher, which was recently sold.
