The LINK Crew welcomed all Grade 9 students, the class of 2021, to O’Gorman High School. Doug Basso, Link crew coordinator/teacher at O’Gorman High School is the instructor that guides the LINK crew, made up of senior students in grades 11 and 12.

Mr. Basso has witnessed how LINK makes a huge difference in the lives of all new grade 9 students.

The LINK crew does several activities, such as social and academic followups with the younger students where they are encouraged to participate in different events, groups, clubs and teams.

There is also a focus on learning and the more senior students mentor the younger students on what to expect in high school and this makes the transition easier and more peer based. "We've seen an increase in the confidence of the grade 9's to just get more involved and be a part of the school and, as we like to say here, be a part of the family," Basso said.
