One person has died after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 11 last night.
The collision happened on March 22 around 9:10 p.m. north of Matheson. OPP did not say what kind of vehicles were involved, but photos shared from the scene show that it involved an SUV and transport.
The highway was fully closed for the investigation and has since reopened.
The investigation is ongoing, says OPP.
So far this year, at least four people have been killed in crashes on Highway 11 in northeastern Ontario.
The crash happened hours after a trucking-safety advocate and two Northern Ontario NDP MPPs called on the government to improve the industry safety mechanisms. Read more about that here.
