Congrats to Taurus Drilling Services for taking home the competitive division championship in a hard played final against Kidd Operations. Kidd made a late comeback but Taurus held on for the 4-3 win. Congrats to Goldcorp PGM for winning the recreation division. After starting the tournament 0-3 the Ontario Mine Rescue team won both their quarter final and semi final games to make the finals. Although Goldcorp took control of the game early the Mine Rescue team tied it up late in the game at 4-4. Goldcorp PGM regained the lead with a couple quick goals and went on to win the title!

At this time I would like to thank Ontario Mining Cup Chair Ted Hanley for his hard work and effort in hosting the first Inaugural Ontario Mining Cup. It was a brilliant idea and was a pleasure to act as Vice Chair with him. I would also like to thank his wife Kate Hanley for putting up with us for the last couple months and for helping this weekend despite being days away from giving birth to their 2nd child.
A big thank you goes out to all all the wonderful volunteers who helped out with the beer garden, banquet, pictures, videotaping of the games, setting up and tearing down. Without you the tournament would have never happened.
