Ontario Northland is making a stop in Timmins to give an update on the return of passenger rail.
On Wednesday, June 19, Ontario Northland representatives will be in town to talk about the engineering designs and the results of the environmental studies to date. The drop-in sessions are being held at Northern College, 4715 Highway 101 E. in Porcupine, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4-7 p.m.
The proposed Timmins-Porcupine station will be on Falcon Street in Porcupine, where there are still tracks from the old railway line.
The plans are for a fully accessible station with bus terminals for Ontario Northland service and Timmins Transit, as well as a drop-off and pick-up area
Ontario Northland was last in town in March to talk about the project.
