The Timmins Police Service has received several inquiries regarding door-to-door sales occurring in various areas of Timmins.
Reports indicate that salespersons are claiming to be affiliated with the City of Timmins or the Ontario government, and requesting information about homeowners’ water tanks or water filtration systems.
As indicated by the City of Timmins, the company does have a business license, as required, however it is not affiliated with or endorsed by the City.
The public is reminded that they are not required to allow any sales agents into their homes without permission or consent. The public should also note that if salespeople are asked to leave, they must do so immediately.
Anyone experiencing aggressive or threatening behaviour at any time is asked to report it to the Timmins Police Service.
