Remember the bear that got trapped in a car? Well there's more video

Mason Charbonneau says he thinks the bear got in and became trapped after breaking a door handle

Mason Charbonneau says at first he didn't see anything when a neighbour texted him early Monday morning to say that a bear was trying to break into his car.

"She continued to text me saying she was certain it was around the car. Then the car started to rock," said Charbonneau.

He used his remote starter to turn the car's engine on — knowing it would also turn the lights on briefly so he could see what was inside the vehicle.

"It was indeed a bear and he was pretty frantic trying to get out," said Charbonneau.

Charbonneau caught the scene on video as police arrived and opened a front door, allowing the bear to escape. Police also took video of the incident.

Charbonneau says the interior of the vehicle was "completely totalled," but thanked Timmins Police for getting the bear our.

Charbonneau says there was no food in the car and suspects the bear was able to get in after breaking a door handle, but couldn't get out because the broken door was now jammed and the other doors were locked.
