Jo-Anne Bougie's father Euclide Moreau was a member of the first Hussars. He drove tank. He joined at the young age of 17 after lying about his age. He was also very young when the war started.
He saved a a sergeant and took a bullet to his arm. He also saved another gentleman who had lost a leg and that man recently passed well into his 90s a few years ago. My father lost a leg himself after stepping out of his tank and stepped on the edge of a landmine. He never talked much about the war as it was very traumatizing.
We lost him at the young age of 52 in 1973. This South Porcupine father of 11 never let his disability stop him from doing anything he loved.
