The streets of downtown Timmins gave area residents an early taste of the holiday season on Saturday night.
The annual Santa Claus Parade drew very large crowds, as temperatures could be described as 'chilly' but relatively mild for this time of year.
The parade route began on Spruce Street South, turning onto Algonquin Boulevard for one block, then turning on to Pine Street South, before rounding the corner onto Third Avenue, before its end on Mountjoy Street.
Many retailers in the area had their storefronts decorated for the occasion.
Volunteers from several local organizations were generously handing out candy to kids along the streets, and letters to Santa Claus were collected by Canada Post workers.
Among the floats were elves and reindeer, the Grinch, and a North Pole themed high intensity spin class.
As antcipated, Santa made his appearance on a Timmins Chamber of Commerce float.
Judges from the Timmins BIA were on hand and the awards will be announced shortly.
