Mohammed El Boury got word that he'd won the TADH Foundation Lottery while working in Nunavut.

After an email and eight phone calls, this month’s hospital lottery winner finally got the news.

When Mohammed El Boury finally received the message while working in Nunavut, he couldn’t believe he’d won the $114,045 pot for the Timmins and District Hospital Lottery.

He reached out through Facebook Messenger to claim his prize.

“We were just planning our wedding and we were stressing about how to afford it,” he said in his message. “This is amazing!”

El Boury is a paramedic by trade and on top of paying for his wedding to his girlfriend, Patsy, he plans to spend some of his winnings on paying off his OSAP.

Tickets for next month’s draw are available online, and the pot for July is already estimated to be around $53,000.
