TIMMINS - Shoppers looking for a deal or more options for pet supplies are in luck.
The former location of Value Village on Waterloo Road will soon house a new PetSmart and another Dollarama location. Construction is still ongoing.
While PetSmart did not confirm a date for opening, there are jobs posted for the location online.
Dollarama confirmed that the Waterloo Road location will be opening in 2025.
“We’re pleased to confirm that Dollarama is opening a new location in Timmins,” The Dollarama media team said in an email to TimminsToday.
PetSmart is planning a grand opening event once the renovations to the location are completed, but there is no solid date yet on when that will happen.
The PetSmart location will offer food, toys, and other products for pets and other services.
“The store also offers services, including pet training and a full-service grooming salon where dogs and cats can receive hands-on care from academy-trained and safety-certified stylists who are dedicated to making pets look and feel their best,” said PetSmart media relations representative Amber Schlaefer in an email.
The location will also offer pet adoptions through PetSmart charities and local organizations.
Dollarama already has three locations in Timmins.
The building at 77 Waterloo Rd. was the home of Value Village until 2022, when the store closed.
