"The Timmins Santa Claus Parade is a fantastic community event. People from our community and across the region look forward to the parade every year. We estimate that some 12,000 to 15,000 people come out to see the parade. Our parade has over 50 entries each year, some 1,100 participants, plus over 100 volunteers along the parade route, making our parade the largest in Northern Ontario," wrote Downtown BIA president Cory Robin in a letter to council asking for the closures.

The theme is Bright Lights and Christmas Delight.

If you can't make it to the action in person, it's also being livestreamed on the Downtown Timmins BIA Facebook page.
