Three dead dogs found shot and dumped in a ditch in Verner have prompted an animal cruelty investigation from the Nipissing West Ontario Provincial Police.

And police are seeking the public’s help in finding out who shot and killed the dogs.

Police were dispatched to the scene, a ditch off Deer Lake Road, on March 8 where they found three Great Pyrenees dogs that had been shot and killed, and their bodies abandoned in a ditch.
