Timmins and area school buses cancelled

TIMMINS - Some schools are closed due to the ongoing power outage in Timmins and area. 

North East Tri-Board Student Transportation buses in Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Matheson, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls and Hearst are not running this morning due to a power outage impacting 35,000 Hydro One customers.

District School Board Ontario North East schools are open if there is hydro. 

The Northeastern Catholic District School Board's schools are all open now, including St. Joseph School in South Porcupine and St. Patrick School in Kapuskasing.

Conseil scolaire catholique des Grandes Rivières — which is not part of the bus consortium — buses are also cancelled. Its schools are open in Hearst, Mattice, Iroquois Falls, Cochrane and Ramore.
