Timmins public elementary schools will be closed twice again next week.
The Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (ETFO) has announced new rotating strikes, as well as province-wide job action for next week.
If a deal isn't reached, there will be a provincial strike of all ETFO members Tuesday, Feb. 11, with the rotating strikes affecting Timmins schools with District School Board Ontario North East (DSB1) Thursday, Feb. 13.
This week, local ETFO members were on the picket line Feb. 3, with all members out of the classroom for a province-wide strike tomorrow (Thursday, Feb. 6).
On the days of the job action, DSB1 elementary schools are closed, including Grade 7 and 8 programs in schools for Grade 7 to 12. High schools are open to students.
