TIMMINS - A local charity shop has reopened for the year and has a special day of shopping this weekend.
The St. Martin de Porres Thrift Shop is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. At users' request, it is also open this Saturday (Feb. 8) from 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
The space located at 85 Spruce St. N. offers donated household goods such as kitchen utensils and appliances, clothes, home goods and more.
"Please come and browse and find treasures at very reasonable prices and all money paid goes to the Timmins Food Bank to buy food for the needy," reads their announcement.
This Saturday is for shopping only. Donations are collected Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The furniture section is open on Mondays from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the small building at the back. Ther are beds, frames, couches, tables, larger appliances and more.
"Drop offs for furniture can only be done during these time or prearranged with Rick Young. Drop offs cannot be left on the ground or veranda," said the organization.
