TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE

The Timmins Police Service responded to a call for service in regards to a dispute at a residential complex in the north end of the city during the early evening hours of Tuesday, Aug. 14.
Upon arrival at the scene, Timmins Police officers halted an assault in progress involving two men.
It is alleged that both Timmins Police officers were assaulted while attempting to complete the arrest process.
The male suspect was eventually taken into custody.
A thorough investigation was completed by the officers in regards to the assault. Devin Wagner, 23 of Timmins, has been arrested and charged with:
• Two counts of common assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
• Two counts of aggravated assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
• Two counts of assault a peace officer contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
• One count of uttering threats contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused [was scheduled to attend a bail hearing today] at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
