Timmins Police Chief John Gauthier has responded to the shooting deaths of five Dallas police officers who died after a sniper ambushed them at a Black Lives Matter demonstration last night in the Texas city.

I was extremely saddened to hear of the murders of the five police officers in Dallas Texas.
A situation such as this strengthens our bond as police officers. As devastating as this is, our commitment to ensuring that our communities are safe is unwavering.
We must continue to do our jobs and serve the public as best we can . . . with professionalism, pride and integrity.
The Timmins Police Service extends our most heartfelt condolences to the officers’ families and coworkers
