With mild weather taking hold for the next few days, the Timmins Police is issuing a public safety advisory regarding thin ice situations within and throughout the city of Timmins.
Whether it be children off on the Christmas break, snowmobile or ATV enthusiasts, or regular citizens taking in a nature trail walk, all are advised to avoid venturing out onto frozen waterways until the weather allows for sufficient depths of ice to form that can sustain a person's weight safely or that of a recreational vehicle.
The arctic chill will be here soon enough to allow for safe usage of these outdoor recreational areas.
