After months of rallying support, the winner of a national contest has been announced.
Mount Jamieson Resort in Timmins took home second place and $20,000 in the Mackenzie Top Peak competition to find Canada's most invested ski community. The cash will be used for the resort's projects to make it a year-round destination.
Supporters packed into the chalet on Saturday to find out the results and celebrate the non-profit organization.
For the competition, Mount Jamieson was consistently in the top two during the public rounds of voting that showed how many votes each nominee was receiving. The final results were chosen by a panel of judges.
White Hills Resort in Newfoundland won the top prize of $100,000. Apex Mountain Ski Resort in British Columbia placed third.
