Over the weekend, the Timmins Ski Racers travelled to Adanac Ski Hill in Sudbury to take part in the first of the season’s race circuit. Adanac, a hill slightly smaller than Kamiskotia coming at 239 ft vertical, hosted the first back-to-back Alpine Ontario slalom race of the year. Traditionally, Timmins hosts the Boreal Cup that weekend, but the club was happy to provide support to their Northern counterparts.

At Saturday’s race, Eli Taylor, Kendra Rusenstrom, and Myriam Levesque nabbed gold in their respective age categories, finishing well ahead of their peers.

Sunday’s race also saw Eli, Kendra, and Myriam joined by Sophie Harterre, capture yet another round of golds in their respective slots.

“I am extremely proud of the performance of our athletes in Sudbury. They have worked very hard, starting off the season with a week-long training camp in Mont Tremblant, QC, and the results are beginning to show,” said Cameron Grant, head coach for the Timmins Ski Racers. “This is great for Timmins and they have all represented our community exceedingly well.”

In total, the TSR brought home seven gold medals over the weekend and are looking forward to building on that momentum for the next weekend’s race at Mount  Antoine in Mattawa, ON.
