Three local athletes are off to the races.
Three cross-country skiers from the Porcupine Ski Runners race team are representing Timmins and the Northern Ontario district at the Ontario Winter Games. The provincial event is being held in Thunder Bay this weekend.
Nicole Kukulka, Chantal Kukulka and Jillian Daguerre are competing in three events. On Saturday, they are racing in the one-kilometre ski sprint qualifier and a 4x2-kilometre skate ski sprint mixed team relay. On Sunday, they are in the five-kilometre classic race.
