VIDEO: Timmins High keeps OFSAA dreams alive in close first game

Check out these photos of the Blues' debut at the provincial championships, the hometown team is back in action tomorrow

Timmins High kicked off the provincial championships with a nail-biter.

The hometown Blues tipped off against Ottawa's Notre Dame High School in their first game of the 2023 OFSAA A Basketball Championship being hosted in Timmins until Wednesday, March 8. The Blues walked off the court with a 45-41 win.

It was a close game all the way through.

At the end of each quarter, Timmins High maintained the lead but Notre Dame was only behind by a basket each time.

A loud, excited crowd filled the bleachers to cheer on the team.

With the win, TH moves on to play again tomorrow morning. They'll play either The York School or École secondaire L'Heritage, who are playing this afternoon at 3 p.m.

Timmins High's second game starts at 9 a.m. on March 7 on their home court.

Passes for the preliminary games on Monday and Tuesday are $10 for adults and free for students. The championship passes on Wednesday are $5 for adults. Tickets can be bought at the door ahead of the game.
