A series of virtual workshops and master classes will be held through February and March aimed at helping agri-food businesses in Northern Ontario grow their enterprises.
Agri-Business Knowledge Camp is a joint initiative of Link North, Bioenterprise Canada, and the Timmins Economic Development Corp.
It’s free to register, and it’s targetting businesses in Timmins, Hearst, Kirkland Lake, and the surrounding areas.
The series kicks off on Feb. 6 at 10 a.m. with the Digital Risk Management Online Workshop, which will focus on integrating and using technologies effectively in agri-business.
It will include data and anecdotes on what farmers, producers and industry experts are seeing; a discussion around internet infrastructure, software/hardware, supply chain and data security on the farm; advice on mapping a network and identifying vulnerabilities; and an overview on cybersecurity.
The workshop will be led by Katherine MacDonald, director general of strategic management in the information systems branch of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, and Dr. Janos Botschner, who leads the Cyber Security in Canadian Agriculture initiative for Community Safety Knowledge Alliance.
