Visit downtown Timmins in Hollinger Park for Hollinger Cup hockey (7 photos)

The Hollinger Cup continues through family-day weekend with plenty of opportunities to watch some excellent hometown hockey

The Hollinger Cup continues through Family Day weekend from Saturday to Monday and there are 26 teams registered to play so come out and pick your favourite teams to cheer on.

The Fred Salvador Baseball Field in Hollinger Park, has been transformed into 22 pond hockey rinks, each with a pond hockey net that's six inches tall and six feet wide.

There's also an NHL regulation-sized full rink.

Each of the pond hockey rinks has been named after a downtown street in Timmins and, unlike a lot of actual pond hockey rinks, neither players nor spectators risk falling in the water, and the ice quality is consistently good. The rinks are cleared and maintained with a Zamboni every hour or so.
