The wait is finally over.
After months of anticipation, Timmins Festivals and Events Committee (TFEC) has revealed the lineup for this summer's Rock on the River.
Walk off the Earth and Billy Talent are the two main acts for the music festival being held July 27-28 at Participark.
“We’ve been getting a lot of requests asking us who’s playing this year, so we had a few holdbacks, but we’re glad that we can finally get this off our chests and start selling some tickets. This is our biggest by far as far as the headliners go, and you’ll see that in production this year at the park,” said John Olaveson, TFEC chair.
Along with Walk Off the Earth, Friday's lineup also includes Scott Helman, Logan Staats, Claude and Simon, and an After Party with DJ Acro.
Before Billy Talent hits the stage the next night, Death From Above, Bleeker, The Motorleague, and winner of 'Gimme the Gig' will be playing.
Each year, the number of people buying tickets for Rock on the River has grown.
Last year, Olaveson said there was about a 20 per cent increase in attendance.
For the upcoming event, he hopes to sell out each night.
“The capacity of the park’s probably about 5,000 people, so with these acts I think it’s a good chance of that happening,” he said.
There are three tiers for ticket pricing.
Tickets for at the early bird rate for general admission are $50 for Friday and $55 Saturday, or a weekend pass for $100. After those are sold out, the prices increase about $5 for each tier for day passes, and $10 for the weekend pass.
VIP tickets are $95 for Friday, $100 Saturday and a weekend pass for $180.
Tickets will be available at TimminsFestivals.com Monday, May 14 at noon.
