The flood outlook for Porcupine Lake and a general water safety statement have been extended.
Water levels around Porcupine Lake remain high, says the Timmins Flood Advisory Committee. The flood outlook, which is an early notice for potential flooding based on the forecast calling for heavy rain or other conditions that could affect flooding, has been extended until April 27.
For all other areas, water safety advisory has been extended.
"City residents are once again cautioned against venturing out on lakes, rivers and small streams where slippery stream banks, thin ice, dangerous currents and fast-moving cold water will make all waterways very hazardous. Parents especially, are urged to warn their children of these dangers," reads the news release.
The committee continues to monitor the flooding situation daily and updates will be issued if the conditions change.
