TIMMINS - The wintery weather has closed a number of area highways.
At 7 p.m. today (Dec. 9), 511 has several highways listed as closed.
The roads affected are:
- Highway 655 is closed in both directions from the Kidd Creek turnoff and Highway 11 in Driftwood
- Highway 11 is closed in both directions between Longlac and Cochrane
- Highway 129 is closed between Highway 667 and Thessalon
A winter weather travel advisory is in effect for Timmins, Cochrane and Iroquois Falls.
Between five to 10 centimetres of snow is expected.
The City of Timmins is planning an overnight snowplowing operation to clear roads.
