Ton in a Tundra

It’s the 20th anniversary of this event that collects donations of cash and non-perishable food items to help the Anti-hunger Coalition Timmins (ACT) Christmas food box program. Taking part is easy! Volunteers will set up across the city with specially marked Toyota Tundras at Metro, Pick of the Crop, Johnson’s Your Independent Grocer, No Frills, Easy Financial, Food Basics Timmins and Food Basics Porcupine Mall. The program is organized by KiSS 99.3 and Q92.1 and James Toyota.
Pet Pics with Santa
Saturday, Dec. 7 and Sunday, Dec. 8, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

This is always a paw-pular fundraiser for the Timmins and District Humane Society. The cost is $20 per pose and $5 for each additional pose. People are asked to bring their own USB memory stick.
Holiday Book Sale

Stock up your library and meet the local authors behind them. This event will feature Dr. Karen Lea Armstrong, Kevin Vincent, Michael Buhler, Paul Toffanello, Carole Morin Horton, Johanna Mercedes, Susan Reimer and Lynn Deiulis.
Holiday Fun Day

Timmins Public Library, Timmins Museum:NEC, and Timmins Economic Development Corporation (TEDC)
Celebrate the holidays at this free fun day in downtown Timmins. At the Timmins Public Library, 320 Second Ave., you can meet Santa Claus and receive a special gift, enjoy storytelling and festive songs, create your own holiday pop-up card, get a free book courtesy of 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, meet the St. John therapy dogs, and meet the Heroes for Hire. At the museum, 325 Second Ave., there's a holiday scavenger hunt and a hot chocolate bar. There's also holiday music and movement sessions starting at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. At the TEDC, 130 Spruce St. S., enjoy juice and Timbits, groove to live music and get a free temporary tattoo. On Second Avenue, there will be emergency vehicles and marshmallow roasting. While all of the events are free, donations are being collected for the food bank.
A Christmas Festival

École secondaire catholique Thériault
Conductor Josh Woods is back in town to lead the Timmins Symphony Orchestra’s Christmas concert that also features the chorus and Timmins-born soprano Maghan McPhee. Enjoy new holiday songs and classic favourites. Tickets are $45 or $18 for people under 30 years. They are available online here.
Timmins Rock vs. Kirkland Lake Gold Miners

Timmins’ Junior A hockey squad is on home ice for a regular season game. The box office opens 90 minutes before the puck drops. Tickets at the door are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors (60 years and up) and students, $9 for youth ages seven to 12, and $7 for children six and under with a guardian. Sitting on the licensed balcony is $17. Tickets are also available online here.
