Timmins Film Festival - Perfect Days

The first offerings at this year’s Timmins Film Festival. Perfect Days is a Japanese film. Hirayama cleans public toilets in Tokyo, lives his life in simplicity and daily tranquility. Some encounters also lead him to reflect on himself. Tickets are $12 and are available online.
Schumacher Lions Christmas Craft Show

One of the largest Christmas craft shows in Northern Ontario This year, there will be over 70 vendors in the arena and auditorium, There will be something for everyone. Santa will be on hand Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2-3:30 p.m. He will be visiting again Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Timmins Film Festival - 500 Days in the Wild

A documentary offering at this year’s Timmins Film Festival. A woman travels across Canada by hiking, biking and paddling. Tickets are $12 and are available online.
Timmins Rock vs. Greater Sudbury Cubs

Timmins’ Junior A hockey squad is on home ice for a regular season game. The box office opens 90 minutes before the puck drops. Tickets at the door are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors (60 years and up) and students, $9 for youth ages seven to 12, and $7 for children six and under with a guardian. Sitting on the licensed balcony is $17. Tickets are also available online here.

Timmins Film Festival - Café Daughter

This year’s Timmins Film Festival is showing Café Daughter. Café Daughter is a coming-of-age story about Yvette Wong, a young Chinese Cree girl in 1960s Saskatchewan who is told to keep secret her Cree identity, but later learns to take pride in who she is and embraces her Cree identity. Tickets are $12 and are available online.
Timmins Film Festival - Ru
Saturday, Nov. 9, 7 p.m.

This year’s Timmins Film Festival is showing Ru. Based on the Governor General's Award-winning novel by Kim Thúy, Ru is the story of the arduous journey of a wealthy family fleeing from Vietnam, before landing in Quebec. Tickets are $12 and are available online.
Timmins Film Festival - Thelma

This year’s Timmins Film Festival is showing this comedy to close out the festival. When 93-year-old Thelma Post gets duped by a phone scammer pretending to be her grandson, she sets out on a treacherous quest across the city to reclaim what was taken from her. Images and Mots by Bravo Nord Opening exhibit
Runs until Nov. 17
Timmins Museum: NEC, 325 Second Ave.
This exhibition of work is on display in the museum's Grey Gallery. It features 11 artists who interpreted two poems of their choice, using a variety of media and artistic approaches. The poems used as inspiration are part of the exhibit. Entry to the museum and exhibit are free.
