It's a busy weekend in Timmins, with a variety of events happening. This list features only some of the action. Our free events calendar features even more of the action happening in town. Check it out here.

VIDMAR Makerspace Open House Tours
Thursday, Oct. 24, 5:30-7 p.m.
Timmins Public Library, 320 Second Ave.

Visit the new space, discover the equipment and learn about the programming coming up. Registration is required and can be done online here.

Timmins Rock vs. Kirkland Lake Gold Miners
Thursday, Oct 24, 7 p.m.
McIntyre Arena, 85 McIntyre Rd.

Timmins’ Junior A hockey squad is on home ice for a regular season game. The box office opens 90 minutes before the puck drops. Tickets at the door are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors (60 years and up) and students, $9 for youth ages seven to 12, and $7 for children six and under with a guardian. Sitting on the licensed balcony is $17. Tickets are also available online here.

Patron Appreciation Day
Friday, Oct. 25, all day
Timmins Public Library and C.M. Shields Centennial Library

Refreshments are being served at both library branches to celebrate Ontario Public Library Week. From 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the main branch in downtown Timmins, there is an appreciation social and librarian chat.

Haunted Hall 
Friday, Oct. 25, 4-6 p.m.
Timmins Native Friendship Centre, 179 Kirby Ave.

The Timmins Native Friendship Centre is spooking up something new. The group is hosting a Haunted Hallway, with frights around every corner. It’s open to all ages, but please note that strobe lights will be used. Entry is a donation of a non-perishable canned food item for TNFC programming.

Sensory-friendly Halloween
Saturday, Oct. 26, 10 a.m. to noon
100 Wilson Ave.

Hands theFamilyHelpNetwork.ca is making sure everyone can access Halloween haunts. Children can practice trick-or-treating and enjoy fun activities and games like pumpkin decorating, potion brewing, scavenger hunts, pumpkin bowling, mad science experiments, glow-in-the-dark slime making, and much more. Fall Bazaar and Tea
Saturday, Oct. 26, 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Paroisse St. Joachim Parish, 88 Crawford St., South Porcupine 

Enjoy a lunch, bake sale, food basket,  50/50 draw and new-to-you items. It’s also a chance to pre-order sausages.

Community Harvest Dinner
Saturday, Oct. 26, 5: 30 p.m. or 6:30 p.m.
Porcupine United Church, 122 Queen St.

Enjoy turkey or ham, potatoes, dressing, coleslaw, vegetables, dessert and refreshments. There are two sittings: 5:30 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. The cost is $20 for adults, $10 for children under 10, and free for kids under five. It’s $50 for a family. Only 100 tickets are being sold. The Magic of the Flute
Saturday, Oct. 26, 8 p.m.
St. Anthony of Padua Cathedral

The Timmins Symphony Orchestra and chorus are back for their first performance of the 2024-25 season. It features Katie Kirkpatrick and guest conductor Réjean Campbell. Tickets are available online here.

Timmins Museum: NEC, 325 Second Ave. 

This exhibition of work is on display in the museum's Grey Gallery. It features 11 artists who interpreted two poems of their choice, using a variety of media and artistic approaches. The poems used as inspiration are part of the exhibit. Entry to the museum and exhibit are free.
