Timmins Museum: NEC, 325 Second Ave.

The work of the world-renowned glassblower, who now lives in Smooth Rock Falls, is on display throughout the month. The museum is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and weekends from noon to 4 p.m. Admission is free.

The Hollinger Open Pit Lookout 

Get a glimpse into Newmont Porcupine’s active mining operation in the middle of town. New this year is a bust of mining pioneer Benny Hollinger, who discovered the mine in 1909. It’s open seasonally seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. except when the mine is blasting, which is twice a day.
