NEWS RELEASE

DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD
ONTARIO NORTH EAST

****************************
Student at Bertha Shaw Public School have been busy building an ice castle this week.

They froze water in milk and juice cartons and then used those as bricks for the castle.

It was a group effort and every student took part.

The week continued with a Fun Family Night Wednesday night at the school.

Students played board games, made Valentine’s Day cards, ate snacks, skated, snowshoed and went sliding in the school yard.

It was also an opportunity for the students to show the castle to their friends and family members.

On Thursday, Bonhomme Carnaval came by to visit the students and see the castle.

The castle will be a part of a competition set by La Centre Culturel LaRonde and judging will take place next week.
