3 accused in attempted murder facing new charges

CHARLTON-DACK - The names of the three people charged with attempted murder have been released, and police have laid new charges. 

On Sept. 23, Temiskaming OPP responded to a shooting at a Agnes Street residence in Charlton. 

Three people were charged with attempted murder at the time. Additional charges have now been laid and the names of the accused have been released.

Amanda Batisse, 44, of Otto Township, is charged with:

  • Attempt to commit murder using a restricted firearm or prohibited weapon
  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo
  • Forcible confinement
  • Fail to comply with probation order

Ronald Bluebird, 49, Otto Township, is charged with:

  • Attempt to commit murder using a restricted firearm or prohibited weapon
  • 2 counts of possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo
  • Forcible confinement
  • Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court
  • Discharged a restricted firearm or a prohibited firearm with intent

Deanna Ramthun, 51, of Charlton, is charged with:

  • Attempt to commit murder using a restricted firearm or prohibited weapon
  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo
  • Forcible confinement

The accused are in police custody and scheduled to appear in court in Haileybury today (Oct. 1).

None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused are considered innocent unless proven guilty.
