KIRKLAND LAKE - A banned weapon and suspected cocaine and methamphetamine have been seized by police.
Kirkland Lake OPP executed a search warrant at a Wye Street residence on Jan. 23 around 11 a.m. Officers seized a prohibited weapon, Canadian cash and drugs suspected to be cocaine and methamphetamine
A 43-year-old man from Kirkland Lake is charged with two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, possession of a prohibited device, and possession of proceeds of crime.
The accused was held for bail court and has since been released. He is scheduled to appear in Kirkland Lake court on Feb. 8.
None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
