Driver charged with impaired in Highway 144 crash

A Timmins man is charged after the investigation into a Highway 144 crash. 

On Feb. 25 just before 3 a.m., South Porcupine OPP was called to a single-vehicle collision on Highway 144 in Doyle Township. There were no injuries and only one person in the vehicle.

Police say the driver had been drinking and was brought to the detachment for further testing. 

A 44-year-old Timmins man is charged with operation while impaired - alcohol. 

Their licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused appears in court in Timmins on April 3. 

None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
