The driver of a commercial fleet van is in hospital with serious injuries after a crash near Val Rita yesterday morning.
The crash between a commercial motor vehicle and commercial fleet van happened Jan. 12 around 10:15 a.m. on Highway 11 east of Val Rita.
The driver of the van was brought to hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries, said James Bay OPP.
After the crash, the stretch of highway was closed for hours between Kapuskasing and Hearst.
The investigation is ongoing and includes the James Bay OPP detachments, the North East Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team and the OPP Technical Collission Investigators (TTCI).

The Val Rita crash is one of two serious collisions on Highway 11 yesterday.
There was also a fatal crash near Thornloe. The highway reopened around 8 p.m.
Tuesday (Jan. 11), Highway 11 was closed for hours just south of Kirkland Lake after a crash between two transport trucks. One person was sent to hospital with life-threatening issues.
