KIRKLAND LAKE - Police seized $40,000 in drugs executing a search warrant.
One person has been arrested after the search of a Balsam Avenue residence in Kirkland Lake on Nov. 20.
Police seized 400 grams of suspected cocaine, six tablets of suspected oxycodone and drug trafficking paraphernalia. The estimated street value is $40,000.
A 25-year-old from Kirkland Lake, who police have not named, is charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine, and possession of a Schedule 1 substance- oxycodone.
The accused was held for a bail hearing and remains in police custody. They are scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 28 in Kirkland Lake.
None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
