Golf cart driver charged with impaired

The 36-year-old is facing a total of six charges

ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE KIRKLAND LAKE DETACHMENT

Kirkland Lake, ON - On May 22, at approximately 1:12 p.m., frontline members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a golf cart on Lebel Avenue in the Town of Kirkland Lake where the driver failed to stop for police.                                              

Police located the golf cart and driver a short time later. As a result of the investigation, police determined that the driver was impaired.

Roger Blais-Gallan, 36, of Kirkland Lake, was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while drug-impaired
  • Possession of illegal substance - methamphetamine
  • Failing to stop for police
  • Driving a motor vehicle without plates
  • Driving a motor vehicle without a licence
  • Operating a motor vehicle without insurance

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on July 14, 2022.
