Municipal Road traffic stop leads to impaired charges

TIMMINS - A North Bay woman is facing impaired charges after a traffic stop in the east end of Timmins. 

On Feb. 5 just after 1 a.m., South Porcupine OPP pulled over a vehicle on Municipal Road near Frederick House Lake Road. 

Police determined the driver had been drinking and she was brought to the detachment for further testing. 

A 37-year-old woman from North Bay is charged with operation while impaired - alcohol, and operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). 

The driver's vehicle was impounded for seven days and their licence was suspended for 90 days. 

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in a Timmins court on March 20.

None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
