KIRKLAND LAKE - One person is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after an aggravated assault, says police.
Around 6:30 a.m. today (Jan. 30), Kirkland Lake OPP and paramedics were called to a disturbance at a Government Road residence in Kirkland Lake.
One person was arrested and another person was brought to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries, said OPP.
A 47-year-old man from Kirkland Lake is charged with aggravated assault.
The accused was held for bail court today in Kirkland Lake.
The police investigation is ongoing and there is still a police presence in the area. No further details are available at this time.
"The OPP would like to advise the public, that this was an isolated event and there are no safety concerns to the public," said police in a news release.
