The Timmins Police Service were deployed to Sixth Avenue (between Cedar Street North & Pine Street North) this morning in response to a weapons investigation. As a result, there is a heightened police presence in the area.

We kindly advise the public to avoid this area while officers are on scene.

At this time, there is no perceived threat to public safety. The Timmins Police Service would like to assure residents that the situation is under control. Additional details will be provided.

If you are residing in close vicinity to the affected area, we urge you to remain in your residence. Should you require assistance in leaving, please contact our dispatch at 705-264-1201.
