The Timmins Police Service finds it necessary to issue a public advisory in regards to the potential disruption of phone line access affecting the Timmins Police administrative phone line of 705-264-1201 tomorrow morning.

In order to address a scheduled upgrade to the existing telephone system, a temporary disruption in the usage of the administrative phone line may occur between the hours of 8 and 9:30 a.m. during the morning of Saturday, Dec. 5.

As a result, the public may experience a busy signal when calling the non-emergency Timmins Police line of 705-264-1201.

This situation is temporary and necessary in order to allow for the system upgrade to take place.

The Timmins Police Service is asking for the public to be patient and delay your non-urgent calls until later in the day.

All 9-1-1 line capabilities remain in place and will not be affected by this outage.

That said, the public is reminded to only use 9-1-1 in cases of an emergency or a crime in progress.

The Timmins Police Service regrets any inconvenience that this may cause, but remind the public that this is a temporary set of circumstances focused on service enhancements.
