NEWS RELEASE
TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE
*********************************
The Timmins Police Service is pleased to welcome the newly minted YIPPIES (Youth in Policing) ambassadors as they begin to assume their duties.
This year’s team is composed of Aleah Miller, a 16-year-old Ecole secondaire catholique Theriault student who has her sights on the medical field or forensics as a possible career.
She was very sad to see the Habs get beat down by the Bolts, but is managing to suffer in silence.
Kira McGee joins the team this year as well. She is a 15-year-old Timmins High and Vocational School student who has policing aspirations for the future.
Kira is also coming to terms with her beloved Montreal Canadians making it as far as they did, but not quite getting to hoist the cup.
Brooke Gauthier is returning to her duties as a youth ambassador. Brooke is a 17-year-old Ecole secondaire catholique Theriault student.
She will be attending the University of Ottawa in the fall to pursue studies in political science with eventual aspirations of becoming a lawyer.
She claims not to have any favourite sports teams. The TPS Leaf Nation support group meets every Tuesday at 9 p.m. and they are looking for new members.
Rounding out this group of enthusiastic community workers is Sidney Del Guidice, a 15-year-old O’Gorman student who has set her sights on forensic anthropology for her career.
She is a fierce Phoenix Suns fan.
Please make these fine young people feel as welcome as possible here at the Timmins Police as they will be working throughout the summer to bolster the reputation of the Timmins Police.
They will be counted on to do a lot of the leg work and community service tasks that will promote the Timmins Police and encourage others to appreciate what the Timmins Police has to offer.
